Recognising the paramount importance of maintaining good health and fitness in our daily lives presents both challenges and rewards. Personally, I deeply resonate with the struggle of attaining and sustaining optimal health, especially as I navigate my 50s, where the effort required seems greater than ever before. This firsthand experience fuels my passion for guiding others on their journey toward self-improvement, striving to unlock their fullest potential.
Originally hailing from New Forest, Hampshire, my roots took hold in Coastal Thanet, Kent, at the age of 8. Throughout my formative years, a fervent passion for fitness blossomed, encompassing both individual and team sports. School and college days saw me leaving behind a trail of athletics records and swimming accolades, with a continued commitment to Netball, including participation in the Thanet District League. Cycling and hiking also captured my heart, alongside competing in half marathons, with a preference for shorter distances.
My infatuation with weight training ignited at 18, evolving into a journey through bodybuilding, culminating in participation in the 'Miss Trained Shape' competition.
Nine years ago, I took the leap to transform my passion for sports and fitness into a full-time pursuit. Embarking on this path, I attained qualifications as a Level 3 Personal Trainer, progressing to become an Advanced Personal Trainer and Nutritional Adviser. Additional certifications in GP referral and pre- and post-natal training followed suit. Working both one-on-one and in small group settings, I embraced the opportunity to empower individuals toward their fitness goals.
Venturing further, I embraced the role of group fitness instructor, relishing the energy of leading larger classes in both indoors and online environments. The accolade of being recognised as an award-winning personal trainer in 2019 remains a cherished achievement.
Beyond the realm of fitness, my heart finds solace in spending quality time with loved ones, including my two beloved Australian Labradoodles, who eagerly accompany me on daily walks. Fitness isn't just a part of my life—it's a cornerstone. My hope is to inspire others to let it hold the same significance for them.
